On 15th December 2007, idols from 6 asian countries will be competing in the first time ever “Asian Idol 2007” held in Indonesia. One of them will be crowned as Asian Idol on December 16.
Hady Mirza will be representing Singapore while Jaclyn Victor is for Malaysia. The others are Mau Marcelo (Philippines), Phương Vy (Vietnam) and for India’s and Indonesia’s idols, their country will decide who is going to represent them in the show.
I do not know why Taufik Batisah is not in the competition. Who is better?
The voting system is quite fair that you have to vote for 2 Idols (1 home idol and 1 international idol) as a special ‘two choices’ algorithm has been devised to enable combination voting to produce the ultimate winner. The rule state that vote that do not choose 2 different countries will not be valid.

Will Hady be the Asian Idol 2007? So get ready your hp and credits to vote for our home idol! My suggestion is we vote our Singapore’s and Vietnam’s idols since Vietnam is less popular than the other countries idols. It will be shown live on 8tv (Malaysia) and RCTI (Indonesia). Not sure Mediacorp 5 will be telecasting it.
think taufik made the right choice not to be involved. who wants to be forever be labelled as a competition contestant? he moved far higher as a musician already. no point being suck down back as a contestant in an age where reality competition is a passe fad..
Ken has already confirmed in ST the chosen representative was based on availability. It was unfortunate that the confirmation of Asian Idol was late, and TB has already set his dates for promotion in Malaysia. I dont think there is an issue here who is the best representation because both has their strength and weaknesses.
Mediacorp will be showing Asian Idol, check these websited.

thanks for the infos.
I agree with puterihimei that Taufik made the right choice. He has developed into such a mature artist. Though not a fan of his initially, I must admit I have grown to admire and respect him as performer.
On the other hand, it would fantastic if I could see him perform as as a guest performer. Hoping someone from the organiser is looking at this suggestion..hehe.
Anyway, I’ll still look forward to Hady performing. He is good too.
Misah,

Im not saying Hady is not good..but i still think Taufik Batisah should have represent Singapore cos his our very first Idol and It would be splendid to see him presenting our nation. plus i think he would give much betta performance to shake the rest of the Asian idols~heh! All the best to hadY mirzaaa and hope he make singaporeans proud..=)
hady won! n most deservingly too. he gave the best performance n sang w his heart n soul eventho his voice is not quite at the top like mike, mau n jac. congrats, hady!
Seriously… Honestly.. He doesn’t deserve it… Can we really say that he has the capabilities that far surpass the other idols… Who are we kidding… No doubt he has put in his best effort in this competition but credit shd be given when credit is due… and this time ard my vote aint for him… Sorry Hady.. but dude.. you have a long way before you can safely say u won it cos u deserve it…
I agree with damsel that Hady don’t deserve the title.. Mau & Mike had shown that they were worthy winners.. But as Singaporeans, we should be proud that Hady rose up to the challenge.. The fact that he can beat other contestants comes to show of his popularity..
They are all Asian Idols… Hady is lucky to win the monies and title… 🙂
“Hady don’t deserve the title” , what bullshit!!, hady worked hard and won. Fact is he got the most sms, people really voted for him, hate it when people disrepect his talent and efforts.
Idol show is NOT a singing show only.t is about ENTERTAINER with a PACKAGE. We pay for WHAT we want to see. Say if Kelly Clarkson is FAT and UGLY, do we vote? If handsome Taufik sings like a frog, do we vote? NO for both. So it is about package. We pay for the best in ALL. For those who lose, sorry for not placing our money enough to SMS yesterday. Anyways, ASIAN has spoken….Hady survived as the 1st.
Well no matter what everyone has to say, the winner remains as HADY! Let’s be happy for him and be proud as Singaporeans!
Who would have thought that an island like us can also soar in an entertainment field like this. We have done well in many avenues the we can be proud of and what is another one to add on to our belt.
Whether one deserves it or not, who are we to say? Are we even deserving to make such comments or be the judge!?
Congratulations Hady! Well done! Enjoy tis good tidings and NEVER let anyone tell you otherwise. God Bless!
At first, the other contestants came across as having better voice ranges and quality. But as the show progress, it became obvious that Hady was, and still is, the only one who can connect with the audiences(both live and TV) with his voice and stage presence. His quality cut across international waters, and that is what an Asian idol, an international star, must have. So he definitely deserves the win….he is the only one of the six, who can hold his audiences with his performances rapturously, in whichever asian country he performs in….!!
