Sitex 2008 Is Here!

28 Nov

I’ve no plan to go to this year 20th Singapore IT EXhibition at the Singapore Expo. One reason is the place is quite far from my home and the other one is I don’t really need to buy anything there since I’ve already cancelled the order of the not-release-yet Creative Labs Vado HD 720P Pocket Video Camcorder @ SGD$299 (see here) and thinking that I should wait for a while before I buy the Sony Cybershot T500 @ SGD$699.

Anyway I did check the price lists here and here. Happy shopping!

Yipee… My New Office Chair Leg!

24 Nov

On Sept 12 2008, I bought an office chair for SGD$139.10 (inc. 7% GST) from a shop near my home. After sitting for a few hours, I notice that I can’t move the chair freely while sitting on it. That the reason why the chair is a bit cheaper than the chairs at COURT that cost around SGD$170.

Yipee... My New Office Chair Leg!
See the new chair with tilt, arm rests and full headrests, the design of the leg is so bad that it will bend when you sit on it.

About 2 months later, while resting on the chair, I feel that the chair a bit slanted backward. I went to check and found one of the legs had just broken. Before I left the shop, the seller told me that there is no warranty for furniture, but they will help change the parts. So I went to the shop and told them about the broken leg. They make a call to the chair manufacturer and told me to come a few days later to change the part.

MSN Groups Will Be Closing On February 21, 2009

8 Nov

I have a few groups in MSN that I created way back in 2000, but I let some to expired except Siti Nurhaliza Homepage (online since July 2, 2000) and Gallery Siti Nurhaliza 1 (online since May 23, 2002). Since MSN Groups will close on February 21, 2009, they are giving me the opportunity to move my groups to their new partner service, Multiply.

I’m choosing Option 1 that will automatically move my groups and its data to Multiply. There are lot of precious info and photos of Siti Nurhaliza that I think the web world would like it to stay on the blogosphere. I’m not sure Multiply will invite my current members to re-join the new group in its new location.

I’m also not sure what will happened to SimplySiti.Com‘s unique visitors because some of the visitors came from Siti Nurhaliza Homepage. Hope MSN Groups will auto redirect the old link to the new one.

I need to register a new account at Multiply since I forgot what the ID and the email address I used long-long time ago. Don’t forget to check these new links if you are a Siti Nurhaliza fan.

Barack Obama Is The New America's President!

5 Nov

Americans elected Democrat Barack Obama as their president Tuesday, in a transformational election which will reshape US politics and reposition the United States on the world stage.

Obama, 47, will be inaugurated the 44th US president on January 20, 2009, and inherit an economy mired in the worst financial crisis since the 1930s, two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and a nuclear showdown with Iran.

He will take office with Democrats holding a monopoly in power in Washington, after an epochal election which sparked a rare generational and political realignment and finally snuffed out an era of Republican control.

Obama is promising to renew bruised ties with US allies, and to engage some of the most fierce US foes like Iran and North Korea.

He has vowed to pass tackle climate change and provide health care to all Americans.

His presidency also marks a stunning cultural shift, with Obama, the son of Kenyan father and white mother from Kansas, the first African American president of a nation still riven by racial divides.

With a stunning grassroots political movement, powered by massive multi-million dollar fundraising, Obama first beat Hillary Clinton, and the Democratic Party’s then preeminent political machine.

Obama strode towards victory on Tuesday by capturing the states of Pennsylvania, the key battleground which McCain needed to win to keep his long-shot hopes of victory alive.

In a sweet moment for Democrats, he also seized the midwestern battleground of Ohio and captured New Mexico and Iowa, two states won by Bush in 2004 to close out McCain’s possible route towards the White House.

McCain had argued that Obama was too inexperienced to be US commander in chief and would pursue “socialist” redistribution policies that would leave the economy mired in recession.

My BidVertiser Payment Scheduled For Auditing

4 Nov

After more than a year since I joined BidVertiser on 11th July 2007, I managed to cash out my earning after it reach more than US$10.

They will pay through PayPal at the end of November subject to approval, as their fraud-protection team will review the clicks generated. The manual clicks-review is an addition to their real-time click-protection algorithm and is to ensure that they only charge their advertisers for legitimate traffic.

Let see whether they going to pay me before I permanently put their ads on my blogs.
