Alleycats: Istimewa Buat Singapura

7 Apr

SYNOPSIS
ALLEYCATS : ISTIMEWA BUAT SINGAPURA

Alleycats is probably the most well-known band of all time in Singapore and Malaysia. Having reign the pop genre for the last 43 years, the group is still going strong with their last concert performance at Istana Budaya in September 2011.

Now for the first time in Singapore, Alleycats will be performing their own full 2-hour concert at the Concert Hall, Esplanade on Saturday, 14 Apr 2012. The Alleycats: Istimewa Buat Singapura kicks off Raistar Entertainment’s ‘Icons from Malaysia 2012 concert series’.

Probably the longest surviving pop band today. their over 40 all-time hits are a regular on radio waves and they count on 4 generations of fans. Formed in Penang back in 1968, the name ‘ALLEYCATS’ was chosen by their then manager Ronnie Chiang Kai Chok, who was putting the band together. They lived and use to hang out near an alley where there are many cats.

With Singapore-born M.Nasir behind the many evergreen songs of Alleycats, such as Hingga Akhir Nanti, Andainya Aku Pergi Dulu, Sekuntum Mawar Merah Sebuah Puisi, Senyumlah Kuala Lumpur, Setahun Sudah Berlalu and Nota Terakhir, it is no surprise that the 70s, 80s and 90s were dominated by Alleycats.

Alleycats has played a key role in the development of Malay music industry. With more than 27 album launches, this legendary and only resident band under Universal Music Malaysia is still on the prowl, with Dato David Arumugam as lead vocalist and iconic figure.

And who can forget their signature ending: “Terrrrima kasihhhh!”

SUM 41 WORLD TOUR LIVE IN SINGAPORE

1 Apr

SYNOPSIS
‘Like’ LinVan Productions Singapore on Facebook for updates on breaking concert news!

Sum 41’s career has been filled with highlights that extend well beyond the traditional ‘punk‘ band. They’ve collaborated with Iggy Pop, Ludacris, Tommy Lee, Rob Haldford, and Tenacious D, and were invited to tour with heavy metal legends Motley Crue when they reunited. They were shockingly close to death while filming a 2005 documentary in war-torn Congo, and Deryck Whibley was almost deported from the U.S for his political views in 2007. Not to mention, they’ve sold over 12 million albums and toured the globe countless times.

They have recently been labeled as one of the world’s best live bands. Whibley says he’s not concerned with these labels, but “all we’ve ever tried to do is play better live. Its what makes us a band. Touring is something we constantly work on, and over 12 years we have continued to improve.”

WIth track titles like: ‘Blood in My Eyes’, ‘Jessica Kill’, ‘Holy Image of Lies’ and ‘Happiness Machines’, Screaming Bloody Murder is an evolution of the band’s metal and punk-rock influence, but continues to blend musical styles as they have done in the past.

Bassist Cone McCaslin feels “like we really reached a new level with this one. Its definitely my favorite Sum 41 album. Musically, this album has pushed way beyond anything we have ever done. I can’t wait for fans to hear this album. I can’t wait to play this album live.”
